Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Holton - Welcome to Holton Primary School

As the Headteacher of Holton Primary School, I am very proud of our learning community and everything we achieve together. Our school is an integral part of our part of the local community history, dating back to 1892. As a school focussed upon supporting the diverse needs of our children and families, we prioritise the building of trusting relationships and acceptance. At Holton Primary School we work together to ensure that everyone is safe, responsible and respectful. These are the foundations for us to nurture and inspire children, in order that they may flourish in school and their lives beyond.

 

We are an innovative and forward-thinking school, always looking to support the emotional, physical and learning needs of all our children. Our ‘ Flourish Curriculum’ is designed around four distinct ways of viewing the world, we call these our Learning Lenses – Diversity & Equality; Wellness, Cynefin Community & Citizenship; and Discovery, Creativity & Expression. Additionally, we support our learners to develop their ‘Learner Capacities’ in order that they better understand themselves as learners and are able to take increasing responsibility for their learning.

 

Our inquiry approach to learning runs from Nursery to Year 6 and is underpinned by authentic learning experiences where children are encouraged to collaborate, reflect and be creative.

 

We are an inclusive and supportive school, where there is always someone willing and available to listen and offer support. Everyone on ‘Team Holton’ is committed to their own professional learning so that they in turn, are able to provide high quality learning and teaching experiences for all of our children.
